Passport DC, May 2013

These photos were taken during Passport DC, when embassies open their doors to the public for a day. We went with our friend Andrej to the Serbian, Afghan and Kazhak embassies. These pictures were taken during a stroll in DC, Chevy Chase, and Somerset after watching the film Parada by Srdjan Dragojevic at the Avalon Theater. In late April, the daffodils and the cherry trees were mostly past their peak but the tulips, azaleas, fragrant viburnums, and dogwoods were in full bloom. I also noticed a front lawn full of violets. The quiet Lanes reminded me of Avon on the Jersey Shore but the sleek Arts and Crafts houses reminded me of trips to California

These pictures were taken on a Friday evening in the vicinity of the Washington DC Union station and of the Capitol. The sun was out and the cherry blossoms were spectacular.
