Monflanquin (2)

Writing this while waiting for Hurricane Irene to reach us in New York. The city is eerily quiet since the subways system shut down at noon, most stores are closed and lots of people have left town. On Friday, the mayor announced a mandatory evacuation for New Yorkers living in the areas most likely to be impacted by the hurricane (zone A).

These pictures were taken in and around Monflanquin in the
Lot-et-Garonne département (South Western France) in August 2011. From top to bottom: Deux chevaux verte in the village of Monflanquin, view from Gavaudin castle, Biron castle, Cadouin Cloister, Montpazier town square in late afternoon, another view of Montpazier, shadows on wall and red clothes pin in Mélis.
